La Vinuela is a village in the Axarquia region, which grew during the 18th century around an old inn. The municipality is known for its reservoir, which is the main source of water supply in the region, and is hugely appealing for tourists. The village has a population of 2000 residents and is 19 km from the coast and beaches at Torre del Mar.
